International supporters – thank you for your patience with the Indiana University Foundation system which was not designed to receive international donations.

Central and Eastern Europe, Africa – we are aware that a donation you give us costs you more than we in the US can imagine.

Thank you for all your notes and comments that accompanied the donations. I am trying to respond individually but it takes a lot of time as over 300 people have donated. We are thankful for the good words as much as we are thankful for the cash. Cash feeds the stomachs, good words feed the hearts.
We have collected nearly $18,000 in pledges and donations (out of that approximately $2,000 in pledges – and I hope the donors will actually follow through). This is approximately 60% of what we need to collect till the end of June. So we are not yet in a safe bay, the campaign goes on although we need to return to our normal jobs, make sure the lottery books reach you and the totes with the Linguist List logo are on their way to you.

You can still support the LINGUIST List, either by a donation to Indiana University Foundation https://give.myiu.org/iu-bloomington/I320011968.html or eLinguistics Foundation https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=87C2AXTVC4PP8.

We need to cover the deficit that we found ourselves in because of the inflation and the resulting rising costs of labor. We will continue receiving donations, so do not hesitate if you still can help!

We here in Bloomington are just a service, but we all in different countries are a community who shares the love for the study of languages and responsibility for the discipline. Together we are the LINGUIST List.

With very best wishes,

Malgosia Cavar and Fran Tyers
Moderators of the LINGUIST List
